It's about desire and newness. Newness? Anyway... The desire to paint has diminished a little. I haven't played Warhammer in so long that I'm not excited about it right now. My plan was to complete the High Elf army because I was jazzed up about playing them on the battlefield. I even have a 225o point army that I'd really like to take to tournamentz.
But then my friend Mike came along and we decided to play a reverse game where I use his orcs and he uses my dwarves. We built lists and played a game in which I totally massacred him cause his Uber Anvil of Doom blew up on turn one. We planned a rematch, same exact lists. Said rematch came and I got my green behind handed to me and a rubber match was planned... but it has yet to happen.
During this time I found myself getting all excited about Orcs, happily chopping up my 40K bits to start my own 500 point army all the while ignoring the Elves wasting away on my shelves.
But time started going by and I didn't have time to play full fledged battles so I started planning a skirmish tournament for when you only had an hour or two to spare. Again I planned it mainly around Orcs because I had WaaaaaGH!! on the mind.
Of course that all went out the window when my nearest hobby shop held a tournament (which I sadly could not participate in) but that got me excited for my High Elf list again. And then Games Workshop decides to put out some awesome new Orc and Troll models and I find myself back where I started. :P
So I have no one to yell at but myself. I have to calm down, take some deep breaths, and paint ONE army. Don't give in to temptation and jump around all willy nilly. Here is my new goal. There is a Warhammer doubles tournament that I wish to join at the end of may. My goal is to have the 1000 points that I will bring to that completely painted in time. I must get together with my partner and find out what strategy we would like to use and whether or not I should field Dwarves or High Elves.
So there it is. I don't know if anyone is still reading this since I haven't posted in months, so "Self", if you are reading, don't fail me. Good Luck.
